Zignego Company, Inc. is a road construction company that performs concrete paving projects along with grading work on local, state, and federal projects as well as private work ranging from urban jobs to highways to interstate work. Founded in 1954, Zignego is family-owned and operated. Zignego Company and its diverse workforce have received multiple state and national awards for excellence.

Typically, field employees such as laborers, truck drivers, finishers, and equipment operators can expect to work seasonally from April through November or as weather and workload allow.

Zignego Company – Truck Drivers and Laborers

Any work on WisDOT projects is paid per prevailing wages by Zignego. The average straight-time hourly compensation package for truck drivers and laborers is about $46/hour!

Profit-Sharing for all employees, plus 401K options. New hires receive: safety training and orientation including our customized “Stretch and Flex” program, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and more!

Room for advancement at Zignego, via apprenticeship and journeyman skilled trade positions.

Zignego Company – Construction Laborer

Are you tough as concrete and want to work outdoors in a fun and physically active environment? Then apply to join one of our road crews! These positions entail full-time seasonal work, requiring overtime during the work season (typically April 1-November) and some Saturdays. In particular, Zignego is seeking candidates who have experience doing green concrete sawing.

Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not required).
Pay/Benefits:
  • Straight time compensation pay averages about $46/hour!!
  • We also have a few positions for those with little to no experience that pays about $33.50/hr.

Zignego Company – Field and Maintenance Mechanic
Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a valid driver’s license. CDL license is preferred, but not required.
  • Candidates must have basic computer skills and have the ability to lift objects weighing greater than fifty pounds on a daily basis. Additional qualifications include effective written and verbal communications skills, strong attention to detail, capability to multitask, and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Repair and service trucks and equipment for road construction at our Waukesha shop and on job sites throughout Wisconsin. The maintenance position would be at our Waukesha shop. The road mechanic position would involve a combination of working on job sites throughout Wisconsin and at our Waukesha shop location and would thus require some travel across Wisconsin.
Specifics:

Year-round full-time, first and second shift, requiring overtime during the work season and some Saturdays.

Zignego Company – Truck Driver

Help captain the Zignego fleet to safety!
This is a seasonal position that typically runs from about April 1 through November, pending weather.
We are looking to add additional truck drivers (primarily dump truck but also concrete mixer and tractor trailer).

Requirements:
  • Either a Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsements.
  • Clean DOT driving record
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs.

Zignego Company – Parts Runner

This position would allow employees to work out of our Waukesha location daily.

Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license
Job Duties:
  • Pick up and deliver parts as instructed by Parts Coordinator
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Select tools and related materials and equipment according to specifications.
  • Operate forklift to move parts throughout shop and yard
  • Perform mechanical inspection on trucks: (e.g., oil, antifreeze, mileage reports etc.)
  • Move trucks within the yard as needed.
  • Complete daily maintenance and cleaning of work area.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • $18-$22/ hour based on experience.
Zignego Company – Project Management

Zignego is seeking candidates with prior experience as a project leader or project manager on road construction projects to lead our company’s growth! Candidates must have a B.A./B.S. degree or higher, and candidates that are P.E.’s are preferred

Requirements:

Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects at one time, possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions, manage tight deadlines, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be familiar with project scheduling programs such as P6 or Microsoft Project.

Job Duties Include:
  • Proactively building and sustaining relationships with clients and general/sub-contractors, both while on the job and through networking outside of work.
  • Conferring with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties and responsibilities.
  • Conferring with project personnel to resolve problems and escalate as appropriate.
  • Promoting safety and assisting with the implementation of all applicable safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Under general supervision, review project proposal or plan to fully understand the scope of the work and contract to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Responsibility for contract management: initial conversations through final project close-out. Additionally, once awarded/executed, serving as the point of contact for customers (internal and external) on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and reconciliation/approval of variations.
  • In coordination with field leadership, coordinating activities of the project to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Coordinates project activities with government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Responsibility for the coordination of the RFP process; create and develop the bid proposal.
  • Completing estimating work, as necessary. Reviewing bid requirements thoroughly and ask follow-up questions as necessary ensuring all necessary information is captured during bid day.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Zignego Ready Mix Jobs-Ready Mix Driver

Zignego Ready Mix is looking to hire ready-mix drivers at our new Burke, WI plant on the east side of Madison. Drivers would be based at the Burke and Johnson Creek locations.

Requirements:
  • Either a Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsements.
  • Clean DOT driving record with current federal medical (Fed Med) card.
  • Must be in good physical condition, ability to lift 50 lb.
Specifics:

Enjoy driving a read-mix concrete truck to jobsites, adjusting the loads to contractor specifications, keeping a clean truck and maintaining customer relationships at our new facility!

This can be either a year-round job or full-time seasonal with first and second shift positions, requiring overtime during work season and some Saturdays.
