Our History
When Vernon and Leroy “Pete” Zignego founded their company in 1954, little did they know they’d be blazing trails that their children and grandchildren would ride into the 21st century. The brothers left the family farm to fight in World War II, then returned to Wisconsin with aspirations in engineering. Civil engineering degrees in hand, Pete and Vern worked construction in the early 1950s before establishing the Zignego Company. Business started small with sidewalk repair projects in metro Milwaukee. Today, the Zignego Group’s third generation not only encompasses Zignego Paving, but also has grown to encompass Zignego Ready Mix and Z Mix USA.
